THE POWER OF BEESWAX

Ancient Egyptians used beeswax to seal in pigment and prevent moisture from ruining cave painging. These days, its moisture-protecting properties are touted in all sorts of beauty products- from hair wax and hand creams to lip balms and body lotions.
Beeswax is easily absorbed into the skin and, unlike most other cosmetic ingredients, is insoluble, so it isn’t doomed by perspiration or a few slip of soda. And lips coated in beeswax-based blams hold in their natural moisture against the wind , rain and searing sun. Body lotion formulations use the wax to prevent the evaporation of moisturizing agents such as lanolin. And because the wax change consistency only at high temperatures, these products wonts turn in your car at high noon.
An added bonus for the environmentally conscious; Earth-friendly manufacturers have turned to beeswax as an alternative to petroleum jelly, which is made by a cheap yet highly polluting process.
